Addy turned in another impressive display in the pre-season win over Saint Etienne on Wednesday

Ghana defender David Addy emerged the star performer for Vitoria Guimaraes in their 1-0 win over Saint Etienne in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old has heightened interests for his services after putting in another solid display as he was involved in almost every promising attack for the Portuguese Cup winners.

Addy came close to scoring earlier in the first half when his ferrociously struck free kick was palmed away by the opposing goalkeeper.

His surging runs upfront and incisive crosses served a constant headache for the Saint Etienne defence.

The Ghana international has been link to moves away from Portugal but Guimaraes are unwilling to part ways with one of their star performers.

Rui Vitoria team’s hardwork throughout the game yielded reslts in the 53rd minute when Marcos Matias slotted in cooly after rounding the French goalkeeper haven been put through with a sublime pass.

Guimaraes will continue with their pre-season preparations before playing giants FC Porto in the Portuguese Super Cup game on August 10.

The side will also be playing in the UEFA Europa Cup this term following last season’s success in the Portuguese Cup competition.
