Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng was an unused substitute as his Fulham side crashed to a 3-1 home defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

Fulham manager Martin Jol opted to start England international Scott Parker who was signed last week.

The 30-year-old was impressive during the pre-season but the arrival of Parker could affect his playing chances.

Boateng made his full debut last Saturday when Fulham began their season with a 1-0 win at Sunderland.

Arsenal picked the points thanks to double from Lucas Podolski and Olivier Giroud and the consolation coming from substitute Darren Bent.
