The right-back produced a Messi-esque style by outmaneuvered four NYCFC defenders in the box during stoppage time to score a stunning goal.
Before making his moves, Afful received the ball from Meram, who was credited with an assist.
Afful has ensured the Black and Gold go into the second and final leg on Sunday, 05 November at Yankee Stadium in New York with a healthy advantage.
