Ghana's flagship football academy, Right to Dream, have been handed an invitation to play in a top tournament in Japan against Flamengo of Brazil and and English club Wolverhampton Wanderers this month.

The Akosombo-based football school will travel with its U19 side next week to play in the 2018 J league International Youth Cup at the invitation of Japan's top-flight league.

The Ghanaian trailblazing football institution is among eight sides invited to play in the competition to unveil the best top players for the next generation.

They will join Korean side Ulsan Hyundai FC, Flamengo and Wolves as the foreign teams in the competition with the rest of the teams coming from top Japanese youth sides.

The home sides playing in the tournament are Yokohama F. Marinos, Albirex Niigata, Shimizu S-Pulse and Vissel Kobe.

The tournament will start on December 19 with the final scheduled for 23rd of December in the City of Nagano, Japan.

Right to Dream have been invited to play in the competition thanks to the poll of talented players who have been groomed at the academy.

They are the only African side to be invited and have been invited to several international tournaments as a result of their performance and the way their players have been trained.
