Elvis Manu scores hattrick for Ludogorets against LASK Linz in Europa

Ghanaian forward Elvis Manu efforts were in vain as his three goals failed to rescue Ludogorets Razgrad from defeat against LASK Linz in the Europa League on Thursday.

Ludogorets were hoping to bounce back from their opening day 2-1 home loss against high-flying Royal Antwerp when they travel to the Linzer Stadion to engage LASK Linz on matchday 2.

The Green and White lads hopes were dented after just two minutes into the game when Husein Balic slotted home the opener for LASK.

Andreas Gruber made it two for LASK with a well taken goal in the 11th minute before Elvis Manu halved the deficit with a close range finish four minutes later.

Marco Raguz restored the hosts advantage in the 34th minute before an own goal from Benin international Olivier Verdon put LASK ahead 4-1 after 56 minutes.

Ludogorets however didn’t go down without a fight as Manu struck again 67th minute time reduce the scoreline once again.

The Ghanaian poacher gave his side some hope of grabbing something out of the game after he coolly planted home from 12 yards in the 74th minute.

Despite dominating the closing stages of the game, Ludogorets could not find the leveled as the match ended 4-3 in favour of the Austrian club.

Manu lasted full throttle while compatriot and teammate Bernard Tekpetey played 88 minutes.
