Two years have passed since they were relegated, and CD Mirandes returned to the second tier the hard way, beating three of their strongest posible rivals.
Borja Jimenez Saez’s team ended the regular season in third place in Group 2 of Segunda B with 69 points, 19 victories and 12 draws. They only suffered seven defeats. They defeated Atletico Madrid B 2-1 on aggregate.
They saw off Recreativo de Huelva by the same scoreline, and completed their promotion with a 3-3 aggregate draw against Atlético Baleares, progressing on the away goals rule.
