Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong unperturbed by Rangers rivalry

Celtic youngster Jeremie Frimpong says he is not worried by what Rangers are doing as the Hoops chase a tenth league title in a row. 

Rangers began Scottish Premier League campaign with a hard fought win at Aberdeen, but Celtic responded with a thumping victory over Hamilton at the Parkhead.

Frimpong scored his firs goal of the season as Celtic brushed aside Hamilton 5-1 to begin the defence of their in emphatic style.

"I don't really care about Rangers, if they lose or win," said the 20-year old after the game.

"I just focus on Celtic and what is the goal ahead. We go out to win. We don't really care about other teams. We just care about ourselves," he added.

The former Manchester City academy player is enjoying life in Scotland after a breakthrough 2019/20 season.

"We had a few chances and had worked on things which we felt would help us create chances,' he continued.

"But, as I said to them, I've been here many, many times when at half-time you think you are doing all right.

"But the first 20 minutes of the second half are crucial at Celtic Park.

"Two goals in the first few minutes of the second half killed the game off."
