Ceres Negros strengthen ahead of ASEAN Zonal Final

Barbaso, 30, began his career with Laos FC in 2009 before moving to Global Cebu FC, where he played for over nine years as a defender.

Filipino side Ceres’ attacking prowess has been further boosted by Dizon, who previously played in Spain with Gimnastica Segoviana CF in 2013, before making his debut in the Philippines Football League (PFL) in 2014 with Global Cebu.

The following year, Dizon moved to Meralco Manila before returning to Global Cebu at the beginning of 2018.

Transferring from Central Coast Mariners, the move for Powell marks his first move out of Australia, having spent his senior career in the National Premier League NSW and A-League since 2008.

Powell will play alongside Mulders, who returns to Ceres after a short stint with rivals Global Cebu early in 2018, in midfield.

The Amsterdam-born attacking midfielder previously played with Dutch football clubs such as HFC Haarlem, SC Cambuur, FC Omniworld (now known as Almere City FC), AGOVV Apeldoorn and ADO Den Haag, before playing in the PFL in 2013.

The 37-year-old also donned the Azkals jersey in their 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers but announced his retirement from international duty in 2016.

Meanwhile, Muller makes his return to football having left the scene last December, setting aside time for his family.

The former Filipino international goalkeeper was born in Cologne, Germany and made his professional debut with 1. FC Köln II in 2007, then played in the Bundesliga with MSV Duisburg II before moving to Switzerland in 2013 with Servette FC.

Ceres are set to meet Singapore’s Home United in the first leg of the AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal Final on August 1.
