2016 CHAN Qualifiers: Asokwa Deportive striker Joel Fameyeh shocked by Local Black Stars invitation

Asokwa Deportivo striker Joel Fameyeh has expressed shock at his his invitation into the Local Black Stars stressing that he never expected a call up.

The striker is one of four Division One League players who have named a provisional 30-man squad by head coach Maxwell Konadu for camping ahead of next month's 2016 CHAN qualifiers against Ivory Coast.

According to Fameyeh, even though he did very well for Asokwa Deportivo by scoring 28 goals in 30 matches, he never expected to earn a call up into the national team.

In an exclusive interview with GHANAsoccernet.com, Fameyeh said: "When my coach told me that I have been invited, I was shocked. I never felt I could earn a call up. My coach was proud of me for scoring 28 goals in the league but I never thought that I could be invited into the national team."

He added: "I believe that this will help me a lot as I join the team in camp. I am really shocked and I will take the chance a prove a point."
