Charles Sampson is implementing a structured scouting system to identify and recruit the best talents for Ghana’s U-20 women’s team ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in September.

The coach revealed that he has already screened about 75 players and identified a core squad but stressed that scouting will be an ongoing process to ensure the team remains competitive.

“Scouting never ends when it comes to the national team,” Sampson noted. “We will continue to look for more quality players until we have a complete team.”

To strengthen the squad, he has set up a scouting network to monitor domestic leagues and assess potential additions.

“I’ve tried to establish a scouting network whereby we can identify the roles and players we need to add,” he explained. “People are watching and monitoring players, so I will have that database to go through and select the best to represent our nation.”

Sampson also highlighted the importance of continuity in Ghana’s youth football structure, stating that a strong connection between junior national teams would be vital to long-term success.
