Charles Taylor warns Uriah Asante over Kotoko switch

Berekum Chelsea winger Charles Taylor fears Uriah Asante’s career could end prematurely if he signs for Asante Kotoko.

The exciting Pure Joy enforcer is on the verge of sealing a move to the Premier League Champions after he ended his season’s long-loan at Hearts of Oak last term.

But a proposed $200,000 offer from Tunisian side Etoile Du Sahel has put the move of the 19-year-old to the Kumasi-based side in serious doubt.

Taylor, 30, switched camp from Hearts to Kotoko in a  record transfer fee of US$42,000 under controversial circumstances in 2003 and flourish in his first season.

However his transfer to the Porcupine Warriors caused a lot of bitter sentiment towards the former Enugu Rangers player, from which his popularity waned drastically.

He claims he received death threat on his life by a popular Hearts fan Kwaku Adusei,   nicknamed ‘Kanewu’ and wants the impressive enforcer to be wary of any move to Kotoko.

“Kanewu once warned me that I will die if I try to leave Hearts and join Kotoko,” Taylor told Kumasi-based Angel FM

Taylor however wondered why players from both sides find it difficult to switch camps.
