Berekum Chelsea have denied media reports of their quest to sign Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure.

The Premier League champions have been strongly linked with a bumper summer swoop for the Ivorian import.

An amount of 250,000 Ghana cedis have been quoted as the figure offered the player by club President Emmanuel Kyeremeh but this has been dismissed by Chief Executive Obed Nana Kwame Nketia.

"We have not held talks with Ahmed Toure or his representative over a move to the club," Nketia told the club's official website www.berekumcheslea.com.

"Our budget for recruitment is almost up and we don’t know how we can afford such amount.

“The president is not prepared to pay the speculated 250,000 Ghana cedis transfer fee.

“We have our transfer policy and we don’t think swooping for the Ivorian marksman is part of our priorities in the off-season.”

Toure was on Wednesday, reported to be considering a move to Chelsea following the perceived 'life-changing' offer which also includes a car of his choice.

The 24-year-old a day later, has however pledged his future with the Porcupine Warriors and has made himself available for the club's pre-season tour of Serbia.
