Chelsea advanced to the FA Cup final with a victory over Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday.

The result means the Blues have set up a date with fellow London club Arsenal -- who stunned Manchester City in the other semifinal on Saturday -- in the competition's finale on Aug. 1. (Watch live on ESPN+ in the U.S.).

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount and a Harry Maguire own goal set Frank Lampard up for a chance at his first trophy since taking over at Stamford Bridge before this season. Bruno Fernandes pulled a late goal back for United from the spot.

The game paused for a number of minutes late in the first half as United defender Eric Bailly was attended to and eventually stretchered off following a violent clash of heads with fellow defender Maguire, but kicked into life soon after.

Chelsea took the lead minutes after play resumed through Giroud, whose side-footed redirect of a Cesar Azpilicueta cross squirted past De Gea and dribbled over the line.

They went two goals ahead right after the restart -- again with some help from De Gea -- when Mason Mount's low, long-range effort was hit hard but should have been easily dealt with by the United keeper, who instead ushered the ball into the net with a weak push.

A Maguire own-goal in the 74th minute completed the scoring for the Blues and booked their ticket into the final -- the former Leicester man getting a toe to a dangerous whipped-in cross from the left and inadvertently beating De Gea from close range.

Fernandes scored a penalty for United in the 85th minute.
