Chelsea handed Dynamo date

Published on: 22 February 2019

Chelsea have been paired with Dynamo Kiev in the last-16 of the Europa League, while Arsenal have been drawn to face French side Rennes.

The Blues eased though the first knockout round of the competition thanks to a 5-1 aggregate success over Malmo - with Chelsea looking to repeat their Europa League triumph of 2013 - when they defeated Benfica 2-1 in the final in Amsterdam.

Their only previous meetings with Dynamo came in the group stage of the Champions League in 2015, when the clash in Ukraine ended goalless, before a late goal from Willian earned the Blues a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, the Gunners - who have never previously faced Rennes in a competitive fixture - eased past BATE Borisov in the last-32, winning 3-0 in their home second lag after suffering a shock 1-0 reverse in the first leg in Belarus.

Rennes, meanwhile, came out on top in thrilling tie with Real Betis, winning the second leg 3-1 in Spain after the first leg in France had ended in a 3-3 draw.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan have been drawn against Eintracht Frankfurt, while record five-time winners of the competition Sevilla have been paired with Slavia Prague.

Sevilla are 11/2 to win the Europa League again this season, with Arsenal priced at 9/2 and Chelsea 7/2.

Last-16 draw:
Chelsea v Dynamo Kiev
Eintracht Frankfurt v Inter Milan
Dinamo Zagreb v Benfica
Napoli v Salzburg
Valencia v Krasnodar
Sevilla v Slavia Prague
Arsenal v Rennes
Zenit St Petersburg v Villarreal

Matches will be played on 7th and 14th March.
