Chelsea keen to compete with PSG for Skriniar

Chelsea are on the hunt for a new defender and Matthijs de Ligt’s high release clause may push them to focus on Paris Saint-Germain target Milan Skriniar instead.

The Blues’ new owners want to give the fans a top defensive signing this summer following the departure of Antonio Rudiger and the first name on the list appears to be De Ligt. There’s still a large gap between offer and request, however, and the Dutchman’s €120m release clause may push Chelsea to look elsewhere.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Chelsea are keen to compete with PSG for Skriniar, who seems to be the Inter player most likely to be sold this summer. The Nerazzurri want around €80m or €70m plus add-ons for the 27-year-old Slovakian centre back and they’ve made it clear that they’re not interested in players in exchange.

Now it’s down to Chelsea and if they’ll make a concrete attempt to bring Skriniar to the Premier League this summer.
