Chelsea line up shock £15m swoop for Dortmund goalkeeper Burki (Sun)

Chelsea are ready to make a surprise £15million move for Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki, according to The Sun.

The Blues are considering their options to replace out-of-favour Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge.

And Chelsea are banking on a cut-price deal for the 29-year-old, who only has one year left on his contract.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is believed to be open to selling the Spain international, who arrived as Thibaut Courtois' replacement following a £72million move from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.

However, despite having established himself as first-choice goalkeeper, 38-year-old Willy Caballero replaced Kepa between the sticks for Chelsea during a run of six matches in January and February, including crucial games against Leicester, Manchester United , Tottenham and Bayern Munich .

Lampard inherited Kepa upon his arrival at the club, but a series of high-profile errors have seen the Spanish stopper come under serious scrutiny.

And according to ESPN , Chelsea have made moves to sound out interest in him from some of Europe's leading clubs via intermediaries, but the report claims there is very little appetite to take the 25-year-old off Lampard's hands.

While Kepa has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2025, the club face a dilemma about how to move forward with their goalkeeper situation.
