Chelsea midfielder offered to AC Milan

AC Milan could be on the verge of making a transfer deadline day coup, with Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas reportedly available to the Rossoneri having been offered to the club in the last hour.

The 29 year-old Spanish international has been on the fringes at Stamford Bridge since the arrival of coach Antonio Conte, playing just 12 minutes of Premier League football so far.

Now it seems an escape from months on the substitutes bench could be at hand, with Chelsea prepared to offer the former Arsenal and Barcelona star to the Rossoneri as reported by SportItalia.

Fabregas would represent a major acquisition for new Milan boss Vincenco Montella, who recently saw Jose Mauri depart for Empoli on a season-long loan in an effort to create space.

However, Milan are thought to be working on a minimal budget and are relying on the departures of Diego Lopez, Luiz Adriano and Keisuke Honda to free up much needed funds.

Milan are long thought to be admirers of Fabregas, but talk of a permanent transfer to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza appears misguided at this stage; with only a loan move seeming a practical solution.

Wage demands and time constraints could curtail any real progress over such a deal, but a definitive response could be made in the next few hours.
