Chelsea striker Diego Costa open to Atletico Madrid return

Atletico Madrid are monitoring Diego Costa's situation at Chelsea.

After his bib blow-up on Sunday at Tottenham, Diego Costa's future is in serious doubt at Chelsea.

Don Balon says the striker is happy at Chelsea and willing to stay, but doesn't enjoy life in London and also is unhappy working under manager Jose Mourinho.

Atletico would welcome the striker back to Madrid - and Diego Costa is open to the prospect.

Should any deal happen, it would mean Jackson Martinez making way, with the Colombian failing to impress since his summer arrival from Porto.

For his part, Atletico coach Diego Simeone has asked for a new midfield signing in January, though won't shut the door on Diego Costa's return.
