A local chief has asked the Ghana Football Association to abandon a pre-Nations Cup camping for the Black Stars abroad and train in his traditional area.

Osie Adzatekpor VII, Paramount Chief of Avatime Traditional Area in the Volta Region, says his area has favourable conditions and facilities to fortify a trophy winning squad.

Ghana plan in camp in South Africa before departing for Gabon where they will based in Franceville.

But the traditional ruler claims Goran Stevanovic and his charges can get the needed preparations back home.

"The Black Stars will have to here and taste the weather that is up in the skies and have their training sessions here," he said.

"The military when they are going for battle, they do hard training and in areas that are not familiar to them.

"I also recommend that the footballers come here and do hard training in an unfamiliar area."
