Christian Atsu receives Porto award

Ghanaian teenage prodigy Christian Atsu Twasam has been named the Best Young Player for FC Porto for the 2010/2011 season.

The 19-year-old received the award Â on Tuesday in the Golden People's Award by the Portuguese giants.

The former Cheetah FC player was promoted to the Porto senior side by now Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas and sat on the bench in last season's final game against Maritimo.

Brazilian star striker Hulk, Joao Moutinho and James Rodríguez also received awards.

Atsu told MTNFootball.com he is delighted to be named about the galaxy of stars at the Estadio do Dragao.

"I'm very happy with this award. For me it shows that I can become a better player in the future and need to work harder," he said.

He has now been farmed out to Rio Ave until the end of the season.

Atsu won the best player of the Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup in June.
