Commisso: Ribery was better than Cristiano Ronaldo

STADIO ARTEMIO FRANCHI (Florence) – Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso was very happy about his team’s performance, as the Viola drew against Juventus praising Franck Ribery who made his first start for the club.

The American entrepreneur also underlined that looking at the value of the two squads, the Viola should have been beaten, but instead managed to force Juve to a draw.

“I am very happy, it was a great game, the lads played with their heart,” Commisso told Sky Sport Italia.

“The way I see it, Juventus had €300 million worth of players, we had €50 million – we should have lost 6-0, but we drew.

“Ribery played better than Cristiano Ronaldo.

“We have two young Italians, [Gaetano] Castrovilli and [Federico] Chiesa, you saw how they played?
Castrovilli is phenomenal.”

Fiorentina haven’t won a Serie A match in 17 games, and since Commisso took over the ownership of the club, the Viola have just managed a draw – against Juventus – after losing to Napoli and Genoa in the first two rounds of the season.

“All I want now is for Fiorentina to win a game,” he concluded.
