Meteors FC, a Ghanaian community team, won the 2020 African-Canadian Cup on Monday, 7 September 2020 in Toronto.

They defeated another Ghanaian team Shatta FC 2-1 at the West Humber Collegiate Institute in John Garland, Martin Grove.

The other teams that participated were Aspire FC, Alliance FC and Presby FC Hamilton Lions, Uganda Cranes and Zumunta FC.

''The goal was to promote community togetherness through soccer,'' Kingsley Opoku Afriyie, one of the organizers and son of late ex-Ghana striker Opoku Afriyie, told GHANASoccernet.com

''The African community has a lot of talent in soccer so we organized it so they can showcase their talent and with the pandemic going on it was a breath of fresh air for everybody.''
