Asante Kotoko’s General Manager Samuel Opoku Nti has adviced rivals Hearts of Oak against their obsession of toppling them and rather concentrate on consolidating their second place in the Ghanaian top flight.

The champions have maintained a healthy lead at the top of the First Capital Plus Premier League despite being on the ropes in recent games.

Kotoko are currently coasting to their third successive league success with a nine point lead at the top.

But second-placed Hearts refuse to give in to the title chase despite a highly inconsistent form.

Kotoko general manager Opoku Nti however says the Phobians are better of concentrating on retaining their no.2 spot rather than the elusive desire to overtake them at the top.

“Hearts have to cry their own cry because they are not even safe at their second position,” he told Asempa FM.

“But it appears their attention is more on us than their quest.

“They are not safe and even Medeama can dislodge them.”

Hearts are just a point clear off third placed Heart of Lions and six points ahead of Medeama ahead of the season run in.
