CONFIRMED: Ibrahim Tanko named as Black Meteors coach

Assistant coach of the Black Stars, Ibrahim Tanko has been officially handed the the Black Meteor job following the demise of Yussif Abubakar. 

The former Borussia Dortmund ace has been appointed as a replacement for the former Aduana Stars coach who died last week in Kumasi after a short illness.

Tanko's immediate task is to prepare the team for their first round of the Afriica U-23 championships qualifiers against neighbours Togo.

The Black Meteors will host Togo on 18 December, 2018 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and the second leg in Lomé four days later.

The winner of this tie will face Gabon in the next round.

The 41 year old has released a 22 man list for the two legged game.
