Conte eyes Roma future after EURO 2016

Published on: 29 December 2015

Italy national coach Antonio Conte has shown positive signs that he may be heading to the Stadio Olimpico for the 2016/17 season to coach Roma.

Ahead of the Azzurri’s 2016 European Championship campaign in France, the 46-year-old’s future has been widely speculated upon with his contract set to expire after the summer tournament.

Following approaches from the Giallorossi in recent weeks, Mediaset Premium reported that Conte’s entourage has indicated he does not intend on renewing his current contract with the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

It is also believed that despite interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League, the former Juventus coach would more than likely be looking at other solutions.

Prior to his national team appointment, Conte led the Bianconeri to three successive Scudetto titles between 2011 and 2014.
