All is set for the maiden Shield National Player Awards after the full list of contenders were announced.

The awards scheme, an initiative of Proton Sports Service and supported by the Ghana FA and the Retired Footballers Association of Ghana is aimed at acknowledging the efforts made by individuals to the development of the game through their work with the various national teams.

The scheme also complements efforts being made by the Ghana FA to reward former internationals who are unfortunately in dire financial situations.

The awards will be presented to deserving individuals at a grand ceremony at the State Banquet Hall on June 22.
