COVID-19: Austria based Majeed Ashimeru urges Ghanaians to remain calm and stay home

Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is urging fans and friends of football to remain calm and stay home as the world fight against the deadly coronavirus. 

Football and many other sporting event have been brought to a halt due to the rapid spread of the virus, which has claimed thousands of lives.

Inn Austria, the Bundesliga has been suspended indefinitely due to the virus but Red Bull Salzburg star remains positive and wants everybody to follow the necessary precautionary steps to help end the pandemic.

"Now its honest to goodness that this pandemic has infiltrated our communities and the world leaving us stammering, we are indeed facing tough times battling an enemy called COVID-19. I just want to share a few words with my fans, friends, family and all people around the world," he posted on Twitter.

"During this difficult times, let’s try as much to stay calm, wash our hands a lot and try to stay away from big crowds. COVID-19 is real and as such, please endeavor to stay at home to prevent getting infected," he continued.

"I believe when you and I stay at home we are going to be safe and it will help break the spread of COVID-19. Thank you I love you guys all. God Alone." 

The former WAFA star has enjoyed a decent campaign so far, making 18 appearances in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg, including creating two goals.
