Sekindi Hasaacas defender Abeiku Ainoonson has disclosed his disappointment following the halt of the Division One league due to COVID-19.

Hasaacas were in top form before the suspension of the Division One league, with 26 points, just two behind leaders Skyy FC.

"It has really affected us, it’s not been easy," he told SKYY SPORTS. "What really pains me is (it has affected) our premier league ambition," he added.

"When you look at the players we recruited, the likes of Samuel Afful (Okocha), Sampson Eduku, Theophilus Nyame, Nana Awotwe and others, the form we picked and how determined we were to bring Hasaacas back to the premier league, then the COVID-19 has brought this, that is what pains me.

"But on the part of players too, I think it has affected us, economically it has cost us. Even when we were playing things weren’t good and now that we aren’t playing, it is worse. Everything is in jeopardy."
