Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, George Amoako has disclosed that the club's sponsors have halted their financial obligations due to the suspension of football activities as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Football activities have been suspended since March due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Executive Council member has bemoaned the effects of the pandemic on the club as their sources of revenues from corporate bodies have been halted or suspended due to the inactivity.

“As a result of this Covid-19, corporate bodies who are supporting us monthly have stopped paying the monies because they are not getting the mileage they are expecting when the football season is on. Because we are not playing football, they are not paying the monies”, he told Happy FM.

He also disclosed that the major source of revenue for the club being gate revenue during matches has been affected immensely due to the pandemic.

"Asante Kotoko, game proceeds are a major source of income, which is then complimented by corporate bodies who augment their monthly revenues".

George Amoako also disclosed that the team's sponsorship deal with its headline sponsors MTN has been put on hold due to the reigning pandemic.
