Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce is upset over this week's sackings.

Allardyce has described his disappointment for Aitor Karanka and Warren Joyce after they were sacked by Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic respectively.

"I am disappointed for Aitor (Karanka), who got Middlesbrough promoted to the Premier League," he said.

"We are all in a difficult position and everyone seems to think that change will happen and make it better, whether it does or doesn't.

"I am disappointed for Warren Joyce too who left a very secure job at Manchester United for ten or 12 years to take charge at Wigan Athletic and has only been given 24 games.

"I am not sure it encourages people to become a manager today, because the short-termism is so short - you might have a try and where do you go after that?"
