Germany moved one step closer to automatic qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic on Friday.

A Vladimir Darida piledriver appeared to have earned the hosts a deserved share of the spoils after Timo Werner had given Die Mannschaft an early lead, but Mats Hummels' late header secured Joachim Löw's side a precious three points in Prague. Löw's troops now face Norway in Stuttgart on Monday (kick-off 20:45CEST/18:45GMT) knowing that another win could seal their place in Russia next summer.
