Daniel Amartey scores first goal in four and half years to earn Leicester all three points against Brighton

Ghana defender Daniel Amartey scored his first goal in four and half years as Leicester City came from behind to beat Brighton at the Amex in the English Premier League. 

Adam Lallana gave Brighton the lead earlier on with a smart finish but Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho levelled for Leicester before Amartey headed home the winner in the second half.

The Ghanaian has been good money for Leicester after recovering from the ankle injury that threatened to derail his time at the King Power and is putting in man of the match performances this season.

The win means Leicester will go second on the league table above Manchester United who will take on rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

26-year-old Daniel Amartey has wasted little time grabbing the opportunity that is handed him by manager Brendan Rodgers following injuries to Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan and is making a claim for length stay in the team even when regular duo return from injury.

Leicester's victory also means that they have not lost an away game in their last ten outings as they chase Champions League football next season, whiles Brighton remain deep in the relegation fight having lost their last three games and just three points above the the drop and on 16th.

Former CF Copenhagen defender Daniel Amartey's return to both form and fitness will be music to Ghana coach C.K Akonnor who is hoping to have the defender in the best of shape ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon next year.
