Ghana defender Daniel Opare returned to training on Monday after sitting out Standard Liege’s last two league matches, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The in-form right-back missed matches Zulte Waregem and Sporting Charleroi due to a thigh injury.

Opare began training on Monday alone but later joined his teammates to end the session.

The 2014 World Cup-bound defender will have to do more to reclaim his position after his replacement Ronnie Stam who put up decent displays.

Standard coach Guy Luzon must decide on whom to use for their next match against AA Gent.

Opare, 23, has made 20 appearances in the Belgian Pro League.
