Defender Daniel Opare played his first competitive match for Zulte Waregem on Sunday, 9 August, 2020 as they lost 2-1 at home to Genk in their Belgian Jupiler League opener.

The summer signing slotted in at right and lasted for 70 minutes before his substitution due to injury.

Opare suffered a knock and was seen to be struggling so had to be replaced by Jean-Luc Dompe

He made an early incursion three minutes into the match when he burst forward and was brought down at the edge of the box for a free-kick.

Last season, Opare missed the entire campaign due to an injury he picked up in pre-season during his stay at Royal Antwerp.
