Defender Daniel Opare has apologized to his teammates and Ghanaians for his early sending off which cost Ghana a 1-0 defeat to Brazil in Monday's friendly.

The Standard Liege player was marched off after 38 minutes for a second yellow offence and that weekend a hitherto promising Black Stars squad.

The make-shift Ghana left-back was first booked for a late challenge on Santos superstar Neymar.

"It is part of the game and i didn't have any intension of breaking someone's leg. It was an unfair red card but sorry for letting my team and the whole Ghana down," Opare told MTNFootball.com

"I take the blame for losing to Brazil. I guess it's part of the game and I have gained some experience."

He also criticized referee Mike Dean for over protecting the Brazilian players.

"The referee began early by intimidating us and was too harsh on me. I still will stand by what I said earlier that I'm sorry and will prove on the good sides."
