Dauda Mohammed backs Kotoko for success in CAF CC ahead of Kariobangyi Sharks clash

Former Asante Kotoko forward Dauda Mohammed is confident the club can be successful in the CAF Confederations Cup despite the lack of competitive football in the country.

The Anderlercht forward advised the Porcupine Warriors to be focused and ignore the fact that there is no football in the country to make the fans proud.

"Previously in my days with Kotoko, the time for Africa Inter-club competition was not in our year calendar. Our league ends before competition in Caf commence. Same as now, so the players should beware and not be distracted with no competitive league in Ghana", he told Angel FM in Kumasi.

Football in the country has been truncated following the revelations of the Anas Expose three months ago. However, the current holders of the FA Cup agreed to represent Ghana at the continental championship.

Ahead of their first adventure in Kenya, Dauda Mohammed called on the players to be mindful of their opponents.

"The players should be mindful that, Kotoko SC is the club they are representing as the supporters are expecting from them and give all out".

"The fans will be proud of Kotoko should they eliminate Kariobangi Sharks and qualify to the money zone", he added.
