Ghana goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has promised to continue with his frantic ‘lion-roar’ celebrations at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-year-old’s wild jubilation in the 2-0 win over Cape Verde in the quarter-finals has seen him become a big hit on social networking sites especially on Twitter and Facebook.
The AshantiGold shot-stopper’s face in the television camera celebration with a huge roar like a lion after the final whistle on Saturday has also gone viral with massive hits on internet video website, Youtube.
Some have however criticized the celebration – saying its nightmarish especially to children while others just think it is hilarious.
Dutch legend Ruud Gullit for instance in his mild criticism of the celebration said: “I don’t think we should show this to children under eighteen years.â€
Dauda is however determined to take his frantic celebrations even a step further when the Black Stars win their semif-final game against Burkina Faso on Wednesday.
“Some (players) chose to dye their hair and with various hairstyles, mine is to celebrate like that,†he said.
“I think I will do more when we win our next game (against Burkina Faso).â€
