David Accam powers Hammarby IF to victory in Europa Conference League

Published on: 30 July 2021

Ghanaian striker David Accam emerged as the hero with his goal ensured a 1-0 victory for Hammarby IF in their UEFA Europa Conference League clash against NK Maribor.

Accam's gaol in the second half made it back to back win for Hammarby who won the tie 4-1 on aggregate and advanced to the next round of the newly introduced competition.

A great goal came at the time where Maribor were growing in confidence as they attempted to overturn the 3-1 first-leg deficit.

Accam missed the first leg due to personal reasons, but fortunately for the Swedish club, he was available for the trip to Slovenia.

The 30-year-old has now scored three goals across all competitions for Hammarby since joining them early this year.
