David Duncan is eager to rewrite the wrong when he guides the country's Olympic team to play in the revamped Wafu Nations Cup in Nigeria.

The Ghana FA has decided to choose the national Under-23 team to represent the country at the tournament which runs from 5-15 May.

The Black Meteors were knocked out of the 2012 London Olympic Games qualifiers by Sudan and the ex-AshantiGold coach wants to make amends.

The team will regroup on Tuesday and depart for Nigeria on Wednesday ahead of the competition and Coach Duncan is eager to silence his critics.

"Competitions like these are always important for teams and we’ll take it in our stride and see how it goes," Duncan said.

"We try to put the best team as and when the players are available and then based on what the technical team thinks, the best are chosen for the national team."

The 10-day competition will put the team in shape and serve as a dress rehearsal for the All Africa games qualifier against Nigeria.

Ghana are in Group B with Togo, Senegal and Gambia.
