Ex-Ghana youth international David Telfer is expected to re-sign for AshantiGold in the second half of the Glo Ghana Premier League.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder is close to agreeing a deal to re-join his former club after an unsuccessful stint abroad.
The former Free State Stars player has returned to the country to re-launch a career.
"We have been in touch with Telfer and hopefully the details should be sorted out soon," AshGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo confirmed.
"He has returned to the country and he's one of the players we are hoping to conclude negotiations with to help our campaign this season.''
Telfer played for the Ghana Under-17 in 2005.
He made his debut appearance for the Black Stars in a friendly against Zambia on 14 August 2009.
