Kevin de Bruyne admits Manchester City nagged him into joining them this summer.
De Bruyne, while with VfL Wolfsburg, was linked with Europe's biggest clubs - but admits City were the most keen.
He told RTBF: "City had already spoken with my agent last March. They absolutely wanted me. The sports director phoned every week and even several times a week.
"I was not afraid to go there. When in preseason with Wolfsburg, I told myself that it was time to accept the transfer and not wait another year.
"Wolfsburg had not bought many reinforcements and it would be difficult to do better than last season. It was the right time to go."
