De Laurentiis: Napoli not effected by Juventus loss

Published on: 18 February 2016

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis believes his side shouldn’t feel concerned following their 1-0 loss to Juventus at the weekend and instead looks towards their Europa League tie against Villarreal.

A late goal from Simone Zaza condemned Napoli to defeat and saw them slip from first place in Serie A, however, the Partenopei patron prefers not to dwell on the result.

“We took a step forward in Turin,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss. “Juventus wouldn’t have won if it wasn’t for our defensive errors in the final few minutes, but it’s not something we should cry about like we always do.

“We are alive, kicking and screaming.

“Now we have the Europa League and our minds are only set towards Villarreal, because it will be a very complicated game.

“They are a team with great values and full of good young talent like Denis Suarez. They also have a president who thinks like me.”

“It will be a tough game and we must deal with them carefully.”
