Asante Kotoko SC have only one player in the Ghana squad for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifications in September.

Central defender Abdul Ganiu Ismail is the only Porcupine Warrior star named in the listed players.

The Black Stars will take on Ethiopia on 3 September 2021 at the Cape Coast stadium before travelling to South Africa later on.

Ismail following his outstanding performances in the Ghana Premier League earned him a place in the Ghana team where he made his debut against South Africa and Sao Tome in March.

The 25-year-old was also included in the team that faced Morocco and Ivory Coast in international friendlies in June.

Ismail made 34 appearances in all competitions for Kotoko where he scored four goals in the process.

Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora has been dropped from the squad named by CK Akonnor on Friday.
