Bordeaux defender Lamine Sane is set to captain Senegal against Ghana in Saturday’s international friendly.

The versatile player has been tipped to be named next skipper of the Teranga Lions to replace Mohamed Diame following the appointment of new coach Aliou Cisse.

The 27-year-old has been a regular at his French Ligue 1 club, where he has also been named captain.

The left fullback, central defender or defensive midfielder was first capped in a match against Gabon in November 2010 and has since become a fixture in the defence of Senegal.

He has now won 28 caps for his country.
