Defender Harrison Afful says there have been significant changes in the Black Stars set up since the last time he joined the side.

The 26-year-old lost his regular spot in the team during the build up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

He however earned a return to the side following a string of explosive performances with Tunisian club Esperence where he played and scored the winning goal in last year's CAF Champions League triumph.

And upon his return, Afful says a lot has changed other done the obvious change in the technical direction.

"A lot has changed in the Black Stars since the last time," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"There are more young and talented players in the team and as you saw the team is more technically disciplined."

Afful went on to express his delight at his return to the Black Stars.

"I want to thank God and Ghanaians for their support and for my return to the team.

"I have been waiting patiently for this opportunity for some time now and finally it has come so am full of thanks."

The former Asante Kotoko player played the full duration of Ghana's 7-0 thrashing of Lesotho in the opening 2014 World Cup qualifiers in Kumasi last Friday.

He is again expected to be the first choice at the left-back position when the Black Stars battle Zambia in the second qualifier on Saturday in Ndola.
