Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng suffered defeat on his Dnipro FC debut in their 2-1 home defeat to Volyn in the Ukrainian League on Sunday.

Boateng, who missed the opening two fixtures due to fitness concerns, lasted 81 minutes on the pitch before being replaced by Kravchenko.

Three minutes after he had been substituted, Volyn opened the scoring through Maicon from a penalty but Mateus equalized on 89 minutes.

The visitors had the last laugh when they squeezed in the winner in the 94th minute.

Dnipro are now 8th on the league table with four points from three games.

Boateng moved from Spanish side Getafe this summer in an € 5.9 million move, signing a four-year contract.
