Ex-France captain Marcel Desailly has touted Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic ‘great’ and clamours for massive support for the Serb ahead of Friday's match against Congo.

The Serbian tactician will play his first home competitive match since he took over as Ghana coach in January.

Desailly who pulled out of the Black Stars coaching race is still eyeing the top coaching post in future but insists Stevanovic has the aces to guide the team to greater heights.

He said: ''We have a good coach and he's great and so let support him. I will meet him soon and let him see the African and Ghanaian reality.''

''These are players who have played to the highest level and so need to ensure that they will still have the fighting spirit and the will to get the desired results.''

He added that: ''Surely I will be involved with the Black Stars in future but at the moment I’m involved from the grassroots.''
