Ex-Ghana President Jerry John Rawlings has waded into the messy child custody legal tussle between his daughter and former Asante Kotoko CEO Herbert Mensah to reach an amicable settlement after the latter went to court demanding access to his two kids with Ezenator Rawlings, insiders have exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com.

This comes after Mensah slapped Ezenator with a suit on Friday to demanding 'reasonable access' to the two children, to ensure the kids spend their holidays and weekends in his Ghana or London homes.

Mensah, who is a close friend and confidant of President Rawlings, had a massive falling out with his former lover Ezenator Rawlings but has kept her dad out of the loop of their bitter split before going to court.

Now the former President has summoned Mensah and Ezenator for a meeting in his house on Saturday to iron out the differences to ensure that sanity prevails with the battle kept out of the public sphere.

Since President Rawlings spoke with Herbert on Friday afternoon the media-seeking ex-Kotoko chief has avoided interviews even though he was the one who brought the issue to the public by posting comments on it on Facebook.

Details of the bitter battle has emerged as Insiders say Mensah has had a frosty relationship with Ezenator and her mother Konadu Agyemang Rawlings since last year with the ex-Kotoko chief believing the former first lady is meddling in their affairs and negatively influencing his ex-lover.

This led to Mensah's veiled attack on Konadu Rawlings, the mother of Ezenator, the former Kotoko implied his former lover is getting bad advice from her mother.

"It is truly sad when people allow bad advice, pride, and arrogance to determine their present future!," Mensah wrote on Facebook.

Mensah is asking the court to order Zanetor to furnish him with an ‘update report’ on the children since they relocated to Ghana specifically regarding their official residence, health, school, and progress report.

The chairman of the Ghana Rugby Union says he has made 48 attempts since the start of the year to have access to the children but has been denied which prompted his action but his description in the most withering terms is what Mensah's accompanying Facebook is meant to exact.

Mr Herbert’s suit is a blow to Ezanetor, who recently won the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary for the Klottey-Korley Constituency and whose campaign to follow in the footsteps of her father had been largely bereft of bad press until now.
