Di Francesco: Sassuolo did not deserve to beat Udinese

Published on: 20 March 2016

Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco has conceded that his side were not at their usual best and that Udinese merited their point.

Matteo Politano cancelled out Duvan Zapata’s opener as the Neroverdi were held to a 1-1 draw at the Mapei Stadium.

“In the first half I did not like how we played, especially in the last fifteen minutes before the interval,” Di Francesco told reporters after the game. “We had a soft approach that we can not afford to have.

“You have to approach these games in a certain way, this week I tried to encourage the boys. In the second half it went better though.

Di Francesco also provided an update on the condition of Domenico Berardi and Luca Antei, who was forced off shortly after the interval.

“Berardi felt a little in his legs, for Antei it is a flexor problem,” Di Francesco concluded.
