DI FRANCESCO'S PRE-MATCH PRESS CONFERENCE

Published on: 22 February 2019

Eusebio Di Francesco poke in the pre-match press conference on the eve of Frosinone-Roma, matchweek 25 of the Serie A TIM 2018/2019.

“The most important match for us is the next one, against Frosinone. We saw against Bologna how dangerous it is to take games lightly so we must get our approach spot on for this one. Frosinone did really well in their last home game against Lazio and this will be no easy match. They have a clear playing philosophy and we mustn't underestimate them.”

About Nicolò Zaniolo: “He may be rested but I don't want to show my hand just yet. He's played an awful lot for someone of his age and at a high intensity. He's produced some great performances but we can't have him play every game. He could start on the bench tomorrow.”

About the Giallorossi's captain Daniele De Rossi: “He'll definitely be in the starting line-up tomorrow. He didn't train yesterday but he'll work with the lads today and he'll captain the side tomorrow.”

On Edin Dzeko: “You have off-days in football and they were all a bit agitated, including Edin. I hope he'll soon be back among the goals because he'll be our centre forward tomorrow and it's important for us to win.”

About tomorrow's match: “It's not easy to be unpredictable when your opponents drop off and sit tight. If you're able to pull your opponents out of position, then you're more unpredictable. Frosinone tend to sit back and wait so it's not easy to get in behind them. It won't be an easy game. In any case it will be a different match to the one against Bologna, both because of the formation and the attributes of the opposition. We'll need to go into tomorrow's with a different mindset to the one we showed against Bologna.”
